This is one of the Best Indian restaurant we had dined in so far.

We celebrated 2013 year end dinner at Rasika and were very glad on our choice.

We decided very late for a restaurant and when called Rasika for reservation it was late and they were full ; we thought of just stopping by there anyways and went ahead. Gladly an luckily they had space to accommodate us and welcomed us with a smile.

The ambience was festive and cheerful and warm.
Our Server (Gustav -- pardon if I spelled it wrong) was exceptional and one of the best we ever saw. He made our experience at Rasika much more pleasurable and memorable.

It was a pre-set menu for dinner that eve -- http://www.rasikarestaurant.com/westend/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/New-Years-eve-12.31.12-three-course-menu.pdf

We thoroughly enjoyed all courses. The consistency was impeccable in all dishes. The chef gave a twist of Indian spices with delicacy. The garnish and presentation is gorgeous.

No wonder this is our Mr. President's most visited Indian restaurant.

I look forward to visit Rasika again.

Note that this restaurant has TWO locations in DC: the guides always list the one in Penn Quarter, but they have another one at New Hampshire Avenue and M Street, in Dupont Circle.
This is Indian food, but much more sophisticated than meals in other Indian restaurants. The service is excellent. The portions are generous. It's pricey, but well worth it. Reservations are either required or highly recommended.

Whoever dines here must get the deep fried spinach dish. I had a duck dish that was fab! All the flavors are robust and clean yet traditional!!!
