“Great food, excellent atmosphere and great service”
Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

We came on a Monday night with a reservation we made about 15 minutes prior to arrival. We ordered a smoked salmon roll and a rainbow roll for starters. We had the lobster Mac, roasted chicken and the spare ribs. The chocolate cake for dessert. All delcious.

“What is all the hype about?!?! Disappointing”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

After a few different friends recommended this place, my husband and I made reservations for us and another couple (all early 30s). The atmosphere and environment was definitely cool and hip, and could even be romantic. However, the food was either too bland, too sweet, or just not good. We started with the several rolls. Short rib roll - the mashed potatoes on top of the short rib were very cold, and threw off that whole dish. Benito roll - the smoked flavor was completely overwhelming, making it inedible. The shrimp tempura and crisy tuna were good and fresh, but nothing to tells friends tomorrow about. For entrees, we had the shrimp and basmatic rice, the scallops, the beef wellington, lobster mac n cheese, and the tenderloin. The scallops and tenderloin were very good but nothing out of this world. The shrimp was good, but very, very sweet (think eating several desserts as an entree instead, but not in a good way). The wellington was extremely rich and almost had a game-like flavor to the meat. The lobster mac n cheese was by far the worst. It was basically inedible. It was cold, the lobster was very tough and the cheese was hard.

I've heard great things about this restaurant, including the food, but we definitely didn't have that experience. What a disappointment.

“Will never go back”
Reviewed June 19, 2013 via mobile

I have not been here in a long time but was still prompt to write this review. From the second we walked in it was terrible. Hostess was rude service was terrible and the sushi rolls were pre made. Not sure if they do anything right but I won't be back to figure it out

“Best Meal”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

my wife and I dined here while vacationing from indiana. not sure if just dont get out much but we both agreed it was best meal we have ever had! she had the miso steak skewers and the meat was soo tender, we both had a sushi roll which were great and i had the chilean sea bass with braised beef fish was done perfectly and the sauce was very flavorful. it is pricey so if your on a budget i would skip but if you want a great meal and experience then you should try it.

“You're paying for the ambience. Food is just average.”
Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

This was first time dining at Oya and did so at a friend's insistence. While the atmosphere is definitely WOW, the food and service is very mediocre. If I went again it would be for appetizers only even though these are still over-priced. Atmosphere provides an amazing experience.
