Owner description: The open-top deck of a Big Bus tour is the best way to see Washington DC. Sit back and relax as you are transported passed the iconic landmarks that make America's Capital so recognizable and special. Our sightseeing tours are designed to provide a flexible approach to city discovery. Your hop-on, hop-off ticket provides you the freedom to get off the bus to explore and visit attractions. Buses run regularly so re-joining the tour is easy.

I was very impressed with the early morning tour and tour guide as we entered Washington from Union Station and toured the memorials to presidents. The distance between attractions is very short and so stopping time can be quite lengthy. I was disappointed when we caught the yellow line to Georgetown. The bus skipped Georgetown entirely and other passengers proceeded to discuss this with the conductors who initially seemed confused. Then we waited and we waited, wasting valuable time in Washington as they seemed intent on getting new customers rather than carrying on with the journey. The worst point was an argument between 2 staff members which was very unprofessional. I think what was difficult was paying for all three lines and then the extra yellow line not going where we were told it would. All being said the red and blue lines were a very positive experience and the negative aspects of the trip could have been down to a couple of disorganised staff members!

This service would perhaps be better organised by a blind, deaf mute. Some of the non-commentary staff may well have attended the Charles Manson School of Charm. It would not be inappropriate for some of the drivers to be issued with cattle-prods, to be in keeping with their attitudes. Alternatively, simple signs directing "guests" (their word, not mine) to use only the rear door to exit, and the front door to enter, would easily solve some problems. Overall, overpriced, and sometimes overcrowded.

Very friendly service, very convenient hop on hop off 4 loop tours is the best way to maximize your visit to D.C. in an efficient manner. Bonus free tickets to trolley ride, river cruise, museum of crime and punishment, and madame tussauds. DON'T TRY TO COVER ALL ATTRACTIONS WALKING MILES IN SCORCHING HEAT WHICH BURNS ALL YOUR ENERGY LEAVING NOT MUCH LEFT IN YOU TO EXPLORE THE POINTS OF INTEREST! (unless you are a hiker, runner, biker ect.)
