We ate at restaurant rather than leave the hotel on a cold wet night. My seafood tagliatelle was fine but not special, but my colleague had steak which was gristly. No staff, though pleasant, asked if our food was ok. Thought this was telling. Worth avoiding.

After having a horrible commute back to the hotel (over a two hour bus ride that should have been twenty minutes) my friend suggested we just eat at the hotel. The menu seemed somewhat limited for an Italian restaurant, it didn't have my favorite dish of chicken Marsala. I did have the ravioli and it was good, but for the cost I would have expected it to be excellent. Most Italian restaurants seem to pride themselves on the bread they serve you, but here it seemed to be an afterthought, so they might want to give some thought to that.

Good food and it was convenient, and the wait staff was attentive. But nothing to make it a great Italian restaurant that you would look forward to returning to, which it should considering the price.

I can't understand the negative reviews because this is a wonderful place for a well-priced meal that never disappoints. Of course it's not like being in Italy -- it's in downtown Washington DC and attached to a modest hotel to boot. But if you go at lunch time you'll get change from a $20 after having a delicious buffet of antipasta, pasta, fish or quiche, and wonderful (if rich) desserts and coffee.

This little restaurant, tucked in the Washington DC Embassy suites Hotel, is a welcome find in this area of DC. A short walk from several of the top hotels (Ritz-Carlton, Westin, Fairmont, Marriott), the food is very good and the prices are reasonable (especially for DC). The primary fare is Italian, but there are a fair variety of other choices. Service was excellent.

I had an excellent steak here! It was cooked just ask I asked and everything that came with it was wonderful. They have an excellent wine selection by the glass, for those traveling alone.
