“First Timer”
Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

This was our first visit to Central. It had been recommended before but we could never get a reservation so we were very happy to get in over July 4th weekend on a Saturday night. Food and service were excellent. We shared a charcuterie board recommended by our server ... it was amazing! lots of interesting cuts and pates. We also shared two entrees ... the chicken schnitzel and the asparagus risotto. We always split dishes as we generally find American portion sizes large! Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the restaurant for great food and a friendly social bistro atmosphere.

“Enjoyable DC restaurant choice”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

Central Michel Richard had terrific food, beautifully presented, in a restaurant alive early on a weekday evening. With an easy walk from our hotel and our day on the National Mall, it was a great choice for us - the best meal in our week's stay.

“Always a winner!”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

I come to DC often for work, and when I can get a reservation here, I grab it. Went with business associates recently and had a great meal, and lots of fun. Cudos as always for a fine dinner...btw, the lobster burger and the fried chicken are awesome!

“Good, but should have been better.”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

Walked in at lunch with no reservation, but gladly took a seat at the bar. Had a marvelous half-dozen oysters at the bar with a nice glass of Muscadet, then had the salmon and a side of masked potatoes with a glass of Sav Blanc. The salmon was good, nice sauce, well presented, but the peas and snap peas it was bedded on were ridiculously undercooked. Really, they were inedible for lack of cooking. And the mashed potatoes weren't mashed, they were pureed and watered down to nothing with too much salt and butter -- barely edible. Service was good, attentive and friendly, and had a great conversation with one of DC's many lobbyists. Very noisy space, modern and hard surfaced, but I would return and try again. $85 before the tip.

“big change-not good”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

I look forward to Café Central on every visit to D.C. This time it was disappointing-service was good but they we out of an item at 7:00 on Friday night. Also the fried chicken just wasn't as good as usual (tasted like it had been sitting in a steam table too long). So sorry
