Description: Blue Duck Tavern, a contemporary neighborhood restaurant, invites its guests to gather and celebrate in good taste with a menu focusing on the freshest ingredients available from local purveyors and artisans. The menu notes every farm where the main ingredient for the dish was raised before its journey to the table. Dishes are genuine, time-honored and traditional -- slow roasting in wood embers, braising, preserving and smoking techniques bring the true flavors of America's great, simple and wholesome foods to the Blue Duck Tavern. The restaurant has an elegant residential feel through the open staff pantry and kitchen, wood-burning oven and the showpiece Molteni range.

Really excellent dining experience. Open kitchen adjacent to tables. We had the marrow bones which I didn't love but were still good. Muscovy duck breast was excellent. Another guest had the short rib which was superbly tender. Two others ordered the suckling pig which they enjoyed. Wine list is relatively reasonable. Desserts were excellent especially their signature apple pie. Located inside the Park Hyatt.

Visited her with my Dad on a road trip, and just had "one of those meals" at the Blue Duck.

Ironically, we were feeling tired and decided not to take a table out on the patio but opted instead for a seat in the bar area to have a lighter meal. They had the same menu available, and we're so glad they did - we only had a couple of simple dishes, but they were both fantastic, especially the pork. Servers were very friendly and relaxed, the drinks were excellent, and we were so intrigued by the pie-making station that we had to try one.

One of the best meals of our trip.

We are regular visitors to D.C., and a weekend here isn't complete without a Sunday brunch at the Blue Duck Tavern. This is an expensive meal, but it's worth every penny. Just make sure to call well in advance, because this can be a tough reservation, especially on busy weekends. We usually begin with the decadent Sticky Bun, shared by the table, along with our Mimosa or Bloody Mary, both of which are excellent. The menu is a cornucopia of delicious options, including both breakfast/brunch entrees, as well as lunch offerings. The Steak & Eggs is popular with our family, and is a generous portion of perfectly prepared strip steak, along with eggs. Their Hash is Catherine's favorite, served with a poached egg (we recommend adding a second egg) in a cast iron skillet/platter. I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed with any food choice I have made here. Service is very good, and our servers were attentive, polite and pleasant. I heartily recommend the Blue Duck Tavern for a wonderful D.C. brunch.

Dear MorayJohnny,

Thank you for always visiting Blue Duck Tavern while visiting D.C. It is wonderful to read how much you enjoy our brunch and make it priority trip-after-trip! We certainly appreciate it. And, the good thing about our menu is that it is always changing seasonally, so you are bound to try to new dishes each visit. Those pecan sticky buns are definitely a favorite of mine as well! We look forward to welcoming you all back again soon.

The price tag may be a bit startling, but I promise you get what you pay for. Order the beef rib? It comes out on the whole bone. Order the breakfast hash? The farm-raised beef from Kansas comes out in a metal shaver with friend eggs on top. You'll finish, but just barely. And you'll be satisfied. This is a classic space with friendly staff and a popular menu. Great place for a special night out or a meal with old friends.

First of all, this place is a farm-to-table restaurant that states on the menu "where" your food is coming from.
The food and service were outstanding. Service: It was a special occasion, and I felt as though we were really taken care of. On the food front, I had a 30 day dry-aged ribeye—melted in my mouth. The wine list is excellent also, with some really nice boutique winery wines
