Description: Blue Duck Tavern, a contemporary neighborhood restaurant, invites its guests to gather and celebrate in good taste with a menu focusing on the freshest ingredients available from local purveyors and artisans. The menu notes every farm where the main ingredient for the dish was raised before its journey to the table. Dishes are genuine, time-honored and traditional -- slow roasting in wood embers, braising, preserving and smoking techniques bring the true flavors of America's great, simple and wholesome foods to the Blue Duck Tavern. The restaurant has an elegant residential feel through the open staff pantry and kitchen, wood-burning oven and the showpiece Molteni range.

If you are looking for good food and terrific service, Blue Duck Tavern is a great choice. Our server, Kamal, was wonderful and extremely attentive without being intrusive. Plates were changed, water glasses constantly refilled, more bread was brought to the table and at times we hardly knew he had come and gone. The appetizer portion of the crab and avocado salad is a bit small to share but the eggplant flatbread was delicious and enough for three to share nicely. The braised beef is fork tender and delicious. Don't miss the apple pie for dessert! You can see it as you enter the restaurant in the pastry section.

My wife made reservations for my birthday dinner at the Blue Duck Tavern which was located in the Park Hyatt where we were staying. We decided to have brunch there as well as we were running late for our sight-seeing plans.

Our server, Carla, was very cheerful and said we were in time to try their grits. We politely (or maybe not so much) explained that we has tried grits on several occasions and did not like it so we ordered the crawfish scrambled eggs with fried ochra and pork belly confit and when it arrived there was also a bowl of grits. I grudgingly tried a spoonful .... incredible! I told my wife and she tried it and now we both love grits, but only from the Blue Duck Tavern. Everything else was fantastic too.

Some friends met us for dinner so we ordered too many items to list but suffice to say that they were all delicious.

The hotel surprised us with a complimentary apple pie from Blue Duck which was also fantastic even though I am normally not a fan.

They are not inexpensive but if you are a foodie, definitely worth it!

Menu changes 4x year and all ingredients are found locally. Every bite was amazing. The only problem was not ordering too much. Good value for what you get. Meal for 2 including wine and tip around $200.

Had breakfast and thought the food was excellent. Would highly recommend the egg white with crab very good and heathy start to the day. Food is pricey and the service was good.

Or should I say holy duck!?! What an overall great experience. Excellent service, excellent food, spectacular desserts!

The menu was interesting and creative without being weird. I never would have thought that seared tuna and cantaloupe would go well together and it certainly did. Apple pie (house specialty) was awesome as was the special dessert of the night.

Don't miss this place and do yourself a favor by arriving early for a drink in the bar. The bar wasn't anything spectacular but I found it very relaxing and a great start to the evening.

Thank Dave M
