First off, we had a GREAT time. That said, there were several drawbacks that people should know about.

1. You have to check in twice, once at a lobby window and once again at a podium to be seated. The line will snake outside pretty quickly so if you're not there early (we were there right at 6:30pm for an 8pm show), you'll probably be out on the stairs.
2. The food is nothing to write home about--the cheesecake tasted strangely like nothing at all--but then again, you're not there for the food.
3. The table is TINY and they put 4 people at it, no matter what. For us, that meant sitting with 2 strangers (who were very nice) and sharing a tabletop about 16" in diameter.
4. It gets incredibly crowded, so make sure you go to the restroom early or be prepared to jostle a bunch of people to get there.

All in all, the good outweighs the bad IF you see someone really great (we saw Jo Koy and loved it).

Last-minute anniversary trip. Great bargain for a night of fun! Beer and food prices were reasonable. We bought tickets late and were worried about our view of the stage, but there really isn't a bad seat. Hoping to make it a yearly tradition!

Been here numerous times. Good range of comedians, reasonable food menu, good service, reasonable prices, and convenient to the DuPont Circle Metro stop. We waited until the last minute to get tickets for a Saturday night show but it was sold out. I went to the Improv at 6:30 pm and put my name on a waiting list and had no problem getting a seat. Non-smoking comedy club :)

Mo Mandel was incredible (headliner) the 2 warmups were very funny as well. At $40 for people you can't go wrong. location is a little quirky though. It's in the basement of an office building.

We decided to try a little comedy after a day of touring DC. We opted for the earlier show, foregoing the headline act for a five comedian show. Reservations were easy to make and the location easy to find. Unfortunately, four of the five comedians just weren't funny. I don't know if they were trying new material or if this is their second job, but repeating the "F" word over and over without any good relevant material just isn't funny. Maybe I'm spoiled by the talent i find in NYC. The fifth comedian was hilarious and happily left the crowd walking out with a smile.
