I saw "The Normal Heart" here a couple of months ago and it was an excellent production. Same with a production of "Red" last season. Am still kicking myself that I didn't make more of an effort to see Kathleen Turner in the one-woman show about the late, great Molly Ivens!!!

Arena Stage is a great venue for theater going. Area has little crime dispite some other reviews. But there are few food options if you are running late other than the cafe in the building. While the food was fabulous, you needed a reservation for seating. But the website has no clear explanation how to make a reservation. Even after eating there last night, I still do not know how to make a reservation.

Seats are around a square stage therefore every seat has a good view. My Fair Lady was excellent. Easy to get to from Waterfront metro stop. Will go again when we are in town. Tickets were not cheap even after discount.

We never tire of Arena Stage. Both theatres are great, there isn't a bad seat in the house - so don't buy the best seats because you don't need to. The productions are always amazing. We love the area too. usually park beneath Pier 7 hotel ($10) then eat dinner somewhere on the waterfront (Usually Pier 7). Then just mosey across the road into the theatre. They allow you to take your beverages into the theatre too which is really nice - no need to chug that wine at intermission. We just was "My Fair Lady" - you won't see better anywhere!

It had been quite a few years since I had been back to Arena stage, but the high quality of performance and staging is still very much intact. I love the theater in the round as you are so close to the actors.
