“No Lamb!!!”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

Despite my landlady being unable to recommend this place after living a few streets away for 5 years, we thought we'd try anyway............
After being seated, given drinks & waiting to order, we were told that lamb was unavailable in ANY dish. Very strange? There was only chicken on the menu otherwise (as a meat option) This wasn't what we wanted & made us wonder the wisdom of coming here, so we left.....

“Butter chicken is delicious!”
Reviewed June 17, 2011

Love this restaurant! Food is very good but a little bit pricey. I highly recommend the butter chicken! I've gone for dinner on weeknights and it never seems to be crowded - I imagine they do more business at lunch time. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Make sure to get your picture taken with the giant stuffed animal white tiger by the door!

“Delicious Indian Food”
Reviewed November 3, 2010

Really great Indian food, good menu, many selections. No wine list. Maybe under staffed--or maybe just on the evening of our visit. Nice location with seating indoors and out. Not too far from the Capitol or the Union Station Metro station.

“Good, but not for big parties”
Reviewed May 27, 2010

The food was good but the naan was excellent! We had a large group and the waiter couldn't break up the ticket by individual, which is fine. However, when we asked for several bills to be changed so some could pay their portion, we were met with serious attitude that I don't remember ordering with my beef vindaloo. The ambience is nice, it's a quiet little area off Columbia circle and close to a metro stop. Other than a table of 2, we were the only group there on a Wed night. I would definitely go again, but with a smaller group.

“Accidental gem in Capital Hill”
Reviewed August 25, 2009

We found this lovely, elegant Indian gem while wandering the Capitol HIll area near the Folger Library, and we are so glad we did. The patio is partly on a side street and partly on busy Masaachusetts Avenue, but the interior is elegant and quiet. We had the buffet at lunch for $10.95 and it was a wonderful, well-cooked selection and variety. The salads are lettuce, tomato and cucumber slices, and cold chickpeas in sauce. The pekoras were very tasty, crisp and not greasy. Entree selection included a tasty curried chicken, tandoori chicken, beef meatballs in a sweet and spicy sauce, spinach paneer and two kinds of dhal, along with rice and a basket of very fresh naan brought to our table. I would have had seconds of the meatballs, pekoras and curried chicken. The sweet cream of wheat wtih cardomom seeds was a wonderful palate clearer. We intend to try this restaurant for dinner on our next visit.
