We have been at the AKA White House residence for about two months and we have been totally impressed with the service provided to us.

The bright spot here is the staff. They are always friendly and helpful. The manager, Aaron, and assistant manager Toni, and Josh, the Corporate Sales Manager are just outstanding! - So are the front desk employees, the maintenance staff - all very professional.

Our special compliments to Aaron, the General Manager who makes this place run so well.

We will miss them all and we will certainly recommend AKA to all our freinds and colleagues.

Visited DC with my wife and two sons and stayed in this hotel. The place met all our needs as we love self catering while holidaying and the rooms were spacious and tastefully furnished. The tourist places of interest - White House, World Bank Buildings, George Washington University etc were all walking distances away. Whole Food stores was just down the street and same for the metro station. The amenities met all our requirements from the kitchen to the laundry equipment. All in all, they made my stay in DC splendid.

Room Tip: You have to either eat out or self cater while you are here.

Stay here whenever I need to be more than one week in DC. One block from the White House. Room is a one bedroom apartment complete with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Great if you don't want to eat out every night. Short walk to Whole foods and several restaurants. Only draw back is that you only get room cleaned once a week. You can get fresh linens and towels when you need but full cleaning is on that one week schedule. Bar and small gym on site. Only coffee in Morning but there is a Starbucks across the street.

Room Tip: No view of anything really. Front of hotel is on H street, back is on small alley. Stay here if you need a good long term "apartment".

My wife and I visited Washington DC recently with our 15 year old nephew. We stayed at the AKA in one of their two bedroom suites. It was perfect for us because everyone had privacy plus there was a nice kitchenette and living room (three TV's!). I have lived in smaller aprtments than this. I don't know when the hotel was built, but everything seemed new. Our room was beautiful and the assistance from the front desk people was very good when we needed it (such as restaurant recommendations and getting extra towels).

The location for tourists is superb. It is a five minute walk to the White House, ten minute walk to the Elipse, and a five minute walk to the Metro station. Once on the Metro, everything is close. We took it to the Smithsonian, to Arlington National Cemetary, and to a Washington nationals ball game.

For an extended stay hotel, or for those parties who need privacy, I cannot imagine a better alternative than the AKA White House.

I stayed in a one bedroom apartment at the AKA White House for one month while on business. The room had a full kitchen, a washer and dryer in-suite, and available on-site parking -- all great amenities for an extended stay. The hotel staff was very friendly. The location was great for metro access and driving into Virginia.
