We visited this restaurant back in 2009 and it was great then. We learned that it recently had changed hands and while this would cause alarm we experienced no evidence that this decision set them back any. The staff is beautifully attentive and focused on you having a wonderful dining experience. I decided I didn't want to leave the place feeling overly full so I opted for the vegetarian sampler which delivered on being light but didn't fall short of being delicious; Chick Peas, Lentls, Cabbage, Eggplant that graced this dish were all winners. The meat eaters in the family were equally satisfied including a fall-off- the-bone chicken delight and a pulled beef dish that compelled you to eat the bread that soaked up the flavors below. The atmosphere was regal but it could use a paint job to match the care and attention they give their entrees. Go here.

We were visiting DC, and a local friend suggested to try this restaurant. It is within walking distance from many lodging places in Georgetown. I really enjoyed the food and the experience. The food was plentiful and very yummy. We did not feel rushed and were able to have a good conversation. The bill for 4 people was about $150 including drinks, which is very reasonable for DC.

I grew up in the DC area and have had a lot of Ethiopian food. On a trip to Washington, I took my children there, ages 8 and 10.

There were a lot of families and the service was great. I thought the flavors were a bit toned down but could taste the freshness of the ingredients and the spices.

I was a little disappointed that the atmosphere was not more like Ethiopian restaurants of my memory, with low stools and huge platters.

My children enjoyed it thoroughly and are now fans of Ethiopian food. I would go back.

While it was clear the quality of ingredients was quite high, the flavors were a bit muted for Ethiopian food. I expect something more flavorful from Ethiopian fare, having dined on it in several countries, including Ethiopia. It would definitely not be my first choice for Ethiopian in DC.
