“Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

This was our first experience in a Nepalese/Indian Restaurant. This establishment is located on a corner on 18th St., on the left you walk up some steps to the front door. On the right, there are steps down to a club which was not open during the day. The interior is comfortable. It is not a very large place probably seats 80+/- people. Once seated, we were served a dish of endame & some baked rice which was very good! The waiter suggested a lamb appetizer, Jir Lamb Ko, which are cubes of lamb marinated and grilled in a tandoori oven. It was very good. You could make this a meal with some rice or naan. For entree, we had Lamb Curry {pieces of lamb in a ginger, garlic, tomato sauce} and Kadai Chicken {boneless chicken pieces in a onion, garlic, coriander, tomato sauce}. Both were served in a small insulated metal bowl and were hot. The Lamb Curry had a stronger flavor but both were very delicious. The servings were plentiful so we finished the chicken dish and took 1/2 the curry lamb home for a snack! The experience was memorable and we will return. The restaurant is open 11AM-3PM {lunch} & 5PM-11PM {dinner}.

“Delicious food, great decor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

The three of us had Himalayan Thali (non-vegetarian, number 71 on the menu). An absolute bargain for $21.95 for the amount and quality of food that you get. The appetizer consists of season grilled chicken (served chilled), spicy breaded pork, deep fried egg (looks hard boiled but is light brown in color), and a few other items. The entree and dessert come served beautifully on one circular metal plate with smaller cups and includes 4 pieces of naan, chicken curry, spinach paneer, rice, potato salad, and rice pudding. All of the food is very tasty and fresh. This particular 3-course menu also includes one glass of wine or beer plus a cup of masala tea to finish off the meal. The servers are very polite and friendly, but really slow.

“Great spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2012

Never had a bad experience and have been many times. The service is always first rate and they do all the little things--beautiful dishes for the food, atmosphere, etc This place works for date night or a quick bite to eat. Highly recommended.

“hidden gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2012

The food is delicious and the menu is very interesting with a diverse array of food options. The setting is casual but romantic. The only downside of eating here is the location near Adams Morgan. Parking is very difficult in this neighborhood.
