I would suggest all the museums in the Smithsonian, but if you are an art lover, this is the place for you. As well as the portraits of the presidents, there are some great portraits of colonial America here to see. I was particularly impressed with the Norman Rockwell exhibits.

This is a smaller museum but it is excellent ! The Portrait Gallery is part of it and outstanding! If you have two or three days in DC and like art, take time to go see it!!

We haven't been here in a few years and the museum has been redone. There is a lovely courtyard in the center now with water features. The space is shared with the National Portrait Gallery. Both have 3 floors devoted to them. Personal favorites include the folk art collection on the first floor. Do not miss the elaborate Throne of Heaven made of tin foil and light bulbs. Amazing! When you're tired, grab an Illy espresso in the courtyard.

Families with children definitely should take a tour of this great museum. Besides, great artworks, painted canvases, and the seasonal exhibits that are nostalgic yet reminiscent of the yesteryear leaves an indelible impression of our great nation called the United States of America. The landscapes are stunning with attention to detail is flawless.Allow yourself enough time not to miss the courtyard. All museums are different no exception.

We attended a gala event there and the museum is beautiful. The sounds and acoustics in the room wasn't the best.
