“Great Location and Wonderful Staff”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

We enjoyed our stay here. We loved that we could start our day with complimentary breakfast, the pool and hot tub were great to have some down time and recharge. They are located around the corner from the Metro and walking distance to the Mall. The staff was VERY helpful and personable. We would certainly stay here again.

Wow, we used almost 400,000 points to get two rooms for 8 nights, but we all agreed it was worth it. We have Marriott platinum premiere status, but while that has gotten us great room upgrades at the Ritz Carlton, it usually doesn't happen at Marriotts. HOWEVER , after our first night we were upgraded to the larger rooms. Thank you, management!! We can only imagine how fantastically the "paying guests" are treated. (However, we do book over 120 Marriott nights a year to get those points!) Our plane (hiss on American Airlines) was almost three hours late for our first night in DC. After flying in from LAX we were hot, tired, and hungry. While the Wednesday night buffet had officially closed just moments before we arrived, a sweet woman got us dinner. Kudos to everyone at this hotel.

Room Tip: Others have said more dining options were a metro ride away, but where do you get off? Our rooms on...

Loved our stay! Excellent breakfast, several nights a week there is also a great dinner that's free. 5 blocks or so to the Capital. Close to the metro. Check out NASA across the street...great gift shop and awesome Library...they give out lots if free pictures/posters/tattoos for the kids, books for adults and the librarian was very nice!

I like Residence Inns and have stayed in the one in Old Town as well. I believe I would prefer the Old Town location because of the dining options within walking distance. Only sandwich shops near this location. Two blocks from the metro for travel to dining and attractions. Hotel is clean and staff is great.

I loved staying at this hotel! t was so great for the value, staff were kind, friendly and knowledgeable and it's not to far from the sites! They have a large dining area with a free breakfast every morning that is always delicious! There is also free evening "socials" which are really meals - not every evening, I think four times a week, however it really is a full meal! There is also a great pool, hot tub and fitness area for down time in the evening. You have to pay for parking but you save on breakfast and dinners! I would definitely stay here again!

Before you think this hotel is expensive let me tell you about our experience. Free breakfast and four evenings a week they have a nice dinner. That's two meal s you don't have to pay for. Yes, you have to pay for parking, but you don't have to drive to most attractions. The Mall is only four blocks away! Everyone is so helpful and kind. From the desk staff to the concierge to the lady that cleans up your plates after you eat. Very kind staff. The location is great!! Walk to all the Smithsonian museums. We did have to take a taxi to a few restaurants that were in China Town or when we were too worn out to walk back to the hotel. If there was a bad thing, it was our view of the loading and garbage dock. Other than that, great place!!!

Room Tip: The two bedroom suite was very roomy. We are a family of 6 and there was a place for all of us to s...

Stayed here in early June and was quite pleased. The rooms were clean, spacious, with a kitchenette and a couch. The breakfast was typical hotel fare, with bagels/sausage/potatoes/fruit but all prepared nicely. Evening meals are provided on Monday thru Wednesday and while it is a "light" dinner, it too was well prepared. The subway station was around the corner and provided access to Arlington, Smithsonian's, Capitol and other areas about town. The subway was not the least "threatening" and except for one slightly crazy man ranting about the Vietnam War the rides were uneventful. Parking was a bit pricey (over $40 a day) but in line with other hotels. Fairly quiet but there is a train that runs just behind the hotel that can be a bit noisy. The staff was EXCELLENT......friendly, helpful and just genuinely nice people. Restaurants are a bit sparse in the area so plan dinners accordingly. Overall, I would stay there again without any hesitation and recommend it to anyone who asks.

Room Tip: Higher is good......we were on the top floor.....very little noise.
