The hotel was clean and comfortable, staff was helpful and courteous. However the valet parking was very difficult and extremely congested, as there was no curbside attendant and several passenger vans clogging up the area with no one directing the arriving guests.

Great location. Close to everything I wanted to visit. We were there for AAU basketball at the convention center. Walking distance was so easy! Breakfast was good, they have convenient To Go bags if you don't want to sit down. Rooms were clean, had everything for a comfortable stay.

Room Tip: There's lots of renovation in the area so we chose a room away from the street

Let start with this hotel is more Expensive. The room was nice, and clean. However the major problem I am having came after checking out. The Hotel place a hold on your bank account for the amount of the room plus 20$ for each night you stay. Then upon check out charges your account the cost of the room. I checked out of the hotel 3 days ago and have yet to have that hold released. After speaking to my bank I was told the Hotel decides the day the money can be released which will be on July 29, just about 9 days after checking out. They do not tell you that upon check in OR check out. Our entire party had about 6 rooms booked and none of us were told that it would take this long for the hotel to get their act together. Just based solely on the fact that they do not disclose this information I will Not stay at this Hampton Inn again.

Dear Guest:

Thank you for staying with us and writing your experience as a guest of this Hotel.

Please accept our sincere apologies regarding funds hold on your Debit Card. We have revamped our check-in process to ensure disclosure of Debit card policy. Typically, once credit hold is placed on a Debit Card as you experienced, funds are withheld by bank and released after 4-5 business days or in some cases longer. As merchants, we may be able to assist guests at times by contacting the Bank directly to release the credit hold.

I am certain, you'll find your next stay at the Hotel perfect. Let me know how I may asssit.

Sincerely,

Stayed here with my wife in early July. Very good location - convenient to metro / shops / restaurants. Some construction work going on around this area but did not interfere with our enjoyment. As this vacation was to celebrate my wifes 50th birthday I had asked for a room with a good view - when we checked in at reception the clerk said we have a special room with a great view - it turned out the "great view" was a demolition site of the building across the road from the hotel. A 15 minute walk down the road from the hotel takes you to Union Station - we also walked from hotel to the Capitol Building (30 minute walk approx)

Dear Guest:

First of all I want to thank you for choosing to stay with us to celebrate a Memorable milestone for your Wife. Good to great experience unfortunately was hindered due to outside construction view as you stated. The room you stayed in will be one of the best rooms of the Hotel once building is completed and shopping and business community moves in.

Our location and attentive staff will make every effort to make your next trip to DC fun. Please let me know how I may assist.

Sincerely,

John Varghese

Once again the Hampton Inn not only met but exceeded our expectations. We arrived early and were able to check in immediately and invited to help ourselves to a delicious complimentary full breakfast. Valet parking was a big help. Lots to see in DC and after a very busy day at the Smithsonian Museums we enjoyed some time in their much needed hot tub and a swim in the pool. After that we helped ourselves to the complimentary coffee and cookies in the lobby and a good night sleep. Another great breakfast the next morning and we were on our way for another great of sightseeing. The Hampton Inns are our lodging of choice wherever we go and we are never disapponited.

A very nice Hampton. Clean, quiet, helpful staff. However, the neighborhood is in transition ..towards the positive, but not there yet. A block in any direction and, particularly if you are a woman alone, a little dicey. Two of our children live in a new apartment complex a block down Mass. ave. and there, there are no signs of the homeless, drugs or potential danger. It is very conveniently located to the yellow line, Chinatown, and walking distance to the Capitol, etc. The night we were there the place was packed. Also very reasonably priced for a big city.

We returned to the Hampton Inn Convention Center Inn for a second stay, a few years after our first. Last time, we took the subway with few problems. This time, it felt like we were walking the gauntlet just to get there. After that, we took a taxi. There is construction/demolition going on on 6th street, and our first room faced the site. After being woken very early, we requested a higher room on the other side of the hotel, and were not only given the room, but our luggage was moved as well. The hotel itself is clean, the breakfast can't be beat, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's too bad about the neighborhood and the construction, though.

Dear Guest:

Thank you for returning after you initial visit to our Hotel. I am sorry, you experienced the construction noise and related activities outside our Hotel. Good news is that the building was demolished and actual construction is currently going on. I hope by your next visit, you'll see fully finished beautiful buildings infront of the Hotel.

Hotel staff remain ready to provide you with the best hospitality you may encounter in Hampton Hotels. Visit us again and experience hamponality!
