I have been a corporate travel agent for over 15years (temporary stay at home mom) I have slept at some of the best hotels around the world. As I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn with my husband and 15year old daughter I can honestly say it is a EXCELLENT value for the price.
The beds were comfortable just as good as some "luxury" hotels, the room, bathroom were clean without any "traces" left from previous guests. Breakfast included a hot, basic well stocked breakfast buffet which is a great deal, if you consider that even some top notch hotels do not throw in breakfast as a perk. Being a New Yorker I really do not understand what some people here are commenting about it being a "bad" neighborhood, only a few blocks from central downtown area?? We parked our Lexus on the street and nothing happened, so being "safe" is an individual point of view !! The ONLY thing I could complain about was (perhaps it was just our room on the 4th floor), but for some reason it seemed like we heard a vacuum cleaner working most of the evening. After getting back at a late hour all we wanted was peace and quiet......and in the far end we just heard a vacuum, but after being so tired from sightseeing we eventually fell asleep.More
