“Chow Down at Chen's”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

Mr. Chen's Organic Chinese Restaurant is located in the lower level (basement) of a multi-story building (there is a Baskin Robbins above). The restaurant itself is small with approximately 30 tables. While we were there we noticed a busy take-out business (both walk-in pick-up and delivery) but we were the only 'eat-in' patrons. The menu includes the standard Chinese food items and, although the restaurant name states 'organic', there is a note on the menu that says that the organic vegetables are subject to availability. We had the hot & sour soup ($ 5.38 for the large bowl - slightly expensive for the size of the bowl, $ 2.68 for the small) which we found delicious and not overly salty. The entree Kung Pao Bean Curd ($ 9.98 large) was enough for two to split provided you are not too hungry. White rice can be replaced with brown or up-charged ($ 1.00) to fried rice. Most entrees were $ 9.98 or $ 10.88. No alcohol is served. There are lunch specials (M-F, 11 AM - 3 PM) for $ 6.98 - 8.98.

We would eat here again.

“Not what we expected”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

We got take-out and went back to our hotel room. The food was just so-so in our opinion. Not bad, but we wouldn't go back.

“Delivery”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

I had delivery from Mr. Chens. Check your order before they leave. I ordered Spring Rolls, paid for them, but they were not included with my food.

Food is typically Chinese Carry Out. Nothing extraordinary. I probably was jaded since they forgot part of my order. I was staying at the Marriott Wardman and they did deliver to my room, which was a nice service.

“Surprising find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2012

We stumbled on this on the way to the zoo. It would be easy to miss, an entry down below the other shops. The place does not look like much, but the food was great. Service was a little over-attentive.
