“Added to my "Must visit whenever in DC" list”

Firefly bar and restaurant must not be missed for many reasons. Their bar staff are clearly passionate mixologists, with a real creative flair for cocktails.

Early Friday evening service in the lounge was slightly slow for no apparent reason but all the staff had a bright and cheery demeanour giving the place a really relaxed vibe. By six o'clock it was approaching standing room only. The Devils on Horseback apparently a signature treat by executive chef Daniel Bortnick have to be tasted to be believed, fabulous.

For Saturday brunch the $2 Bloody Mary's are seriously good if you like your cocktails really spicy but make sure they remember to charge you the reduced price. My bill first appeared at the full $9 rate, this was promptly remedied when questioned.

The Grilled Chicken Cob Salad is a really generous serving of quality ingredients executed to aplomb. They also have a great range of teas and some excellent Coconut Water.

Overall outstanding.

“Exceeded Expectations!”
Reviewed January 22, 2013 via mobile

Walked by this and it looked so inviting. After reading the reviews we decided to give it a try the next day. The service was welcoming and very friendly. We had a great conversation with the manager. The beef Wellington and crab cakes were excellent and the mashed potatoes were to die for. Loved the organic look and feel of the place and we got a kick out of the mason jar and "firefly" that our bill cam in-very unique! Will definitely come back the next time we are in town!

“Good place to eat”
Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

Visited here multiple times when in DC. A little noisy but food and service is excellent. Visited with kids and they love the cookies which they decorate before dinner and then serve at end of meal.
Prices are good for locally grown and raised food.
All in all a very good place!
