We ate twice at Sette Osteria during our recent Washington DC trip. It was only a few minutes walk from our B&B in Dupont Circle, so we thought we'd try it on our first evening. We enjoyed it so much we returned again on our last evening as well!
The first evening we sat inside (it was way too humid outside) and shared a Margherita wood fired pizza with fresh basil. It was excellent. We also both go side Caesar salads, which were very fresh, but maybe just a little light on the dressing. They have an extensive wine selection as well, and many are available by the half carafe, which is nice if you want a little more than 1 glass, but not a full bottle.
The second evening, it cooled off considerably, so we took a table outside on the patio. It was so much fun people watching on Dupont Circle during dinner! We had the lasagna and the gnocchi as our entrees, and both were so good! Then for dessert, they had a special coconut mango cheesecake, which was just heavenly. They mentioned they may add to the regular menu, so you must try it if it's available.
Both nights we had prompt, excellent service with a smile. We never had to wait for a table, even though one evening was a Friday.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you'd like some very good Italian food in a comfortable atmosphere.
