“Breath taking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

A must see, beautiful with honor and history.I suggest hitting everything, from the White House, Capital, Supreme Court, FBI, Treasury, and many more buildings. The Lincoln,Vietnam, Korean, Memorials to the Holocaust, American Indian, Smithsonian Museums and etc... Parks, Arlington National Cemetery, Pentagon Memorial too. So much to list and so much to see with such beauty and the cleanliness of the downtown city itself! This has to be one of those must see places or have one ones bucket list of all time!

“Dedicated”

This is a large memorial. The 1st one past the Washington Monument. The design is very well done. Good place to soak your feet on the fountain.

“Beautiful & Reflective!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

This is located at the eastern end of the Reflecting Pool - this is one of the most beautifully laid out memorials on the Mall! It is built around a water feature this makes a worthwhile visit and also provides great photo opportunities of the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. Great way to pay respects to those who sacrificed their lives during the Second World War. Powerful and selective quotations etched into the granite around the inner memorial are inspiring!

Parking as always is to be planned ahead and a there is a block of toilets close by!

“Fountains are breathtaking at night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

We went here on a tour at night. I was amazed at how beautiful the water fountains were with the lights illuminating the water. It was very peaceful to just listen to the fountains. The design of the memorial is very well done.

Warning - if you go at night, watch your step! The walkways have raised surfaces due to the engraving. I actually tripped and hurt myself so bad that I ended up having surgery a few months later. Just don't get so caught up in the memorial that you forget to watch where you're walking!
