“At Night is better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

We saw the WW II memorial at night first and it was good. However, we went back two days later and it was on OK in the daylight. The fountain was not working. If you are pressed for time, skip this one.

“Truly a special site at night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

An unexpected find walking on the mall on a recent evening while visiting. Its a really well done memorial. You won't learn too much about the war or anything, but its a nice place to reflect on a beautiful spring evening. I highly recommend a visit. You won't need to spend more than a half hour, 45 minutes there. So, you can move on to other things on the mall.

“Beautiful Memorial”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

Beautifully designed memorial that is currently under renovations. Still moving, with a beautiful fountain at its center. Add it to the list of other memorials to view in the area.

“Go in the Day and Night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

This is a memorial so full of history. The quotes all around the monument bring the devastation and urgency of the war efforts back to life. Such a beautiful memorial to a dying generation of true patriots.

“I found my grandfather's name.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

This was the first stop on our trip. This is an awesome momument. Very moving- it does a good job of conveying how many people in our country were affected by this war. My boyfriend was able to get some amazing pictures, especially one of the WWII Memorial, a flag blowing in the breeze and the Washington Memorial behind them. There are also computer stations where you can search for members of the armed services who served during this war. I found my grandfather's name. Very emotional. Highly recommended.
