We were staying at The Quincy in Washington DC and the Corner Bakery was across the street. We had never eaten at a Corner Bakery and when we told the lady taking our order she told the other employees it was our first visit. We received a warm greeting and a warm smile from Cassandra. From that day forward we ate our breakfast every morning for the next six days. The breakfast items were always fresh and very tasty. Every morning we were greeted with a smile and a hug from Cassandra. If you find yourself near this bakery go by and enjoy a great breakfast and please say hello to Cassandra for my wife and I. It is apparent that this is a well managed chain.

We found this little breakfast spot toward the end of our visit and lament we didn't find it sooner. The workers were cheerful and friendly and seemed to really care that we were there. They offered nice, light breakfast menu choices that tasted good!

This was my first experience in a Corner Bakery Cafe--which is a chain but feels more like a unique lunchery than an impersonal Starbucks-style place. There's an assortment of terrific sandwiches (I had the Uptown Turkey--slices of fresh roasted turkey, avocado, mayonnaise, lettuce, and strips of bacon on toasted whole wheat) for $7.69, which came with a bag of chips and a pickle. A staff person came around and gave out little samples of delicious cookies. My colleagues had equally appetizing soups, salads, and sandwiches. There are plenty of choices of drinks, lots of bakes goods, and deserts. Service was fast--you place your order, take a number, find a table, then stick the number in a little holder and wait for your choice to be delivered. The space was open and inviting, with lots of seating choices. A good place for a quick, delicious lunch.

Don't bother going anywhere else for lunch - we were recommended this gem by a couple of locals we got talking to waiting to cross the road...everything is delicious, very slick service and all American atmosphere full of locals suited and booted on lunch breaks...wish we had known about it from the start of our stay...
