Being of Latin heritage, I was excited to hear about this place and when I arrived there, I was blown away by the building. Its architecture is pretty impressive but the exhibitions, well, as a Smithsonian museum, I expected more. I couldn't find any useful information about the cultures presented there because almost everything were excerpts of interviews or books. I want concrete facts (the interviews were ok, but I don't want a quote from what an anthropologist wrote in a book).
Besides, I feel like this museum has been very neglected - sometimes I couldn't read the info they offered because some of the lettering was falling apart and some of the objects exhibited were old. What a shame.
