Food was good, but in VERY small portions. Drinks were delicious, but at $11 and up - shouldn't they be? Left there hungry even though I had a starter (salad), pork medallions (sized for a child), an dessert (a lonely, small crepe on a huge plate). The plates are enormous, but the portions are so small you're certain it's the middle of the Depression. It's a cute, bustling restaurant, but the cost of dinner for 4 of us was outrageous. We've paid less at the Morrison House.

Good selection of Belgian brews. Crepes are special , French Dip sandwich, Croque Monsieur, Mussels, or le hamburger. Good for lunch or dinner. Excellent service.

Staying in the Adams Morgan area of DC, we wandered around the neighborhood before coming upon l'Enfant. It was too nice an evening to sit inside, so we asked for the patio. Very small tables, we needed two for the three of us. Disappointed that smoking laws here permit smoking in restaurant eating areas. However, the location next to the street was great, and we had a charming and friendly waiter with a sense of humor.

The wine was great - a Chenin Blanc/Viognier blend - and the pomme frites were outstanding, with the three dips. My companions had the French Onion soup (very good) and the gazpacho (also very good.) Main courses were Divers Scallops (excellent), my husband had pork medallions (good flavor but overcooked, he said) and my crepe with roasted red pepper and goat cheese was delicious. The grilled veggies I had as a side were less successful - the zucchini was overdone and limp. Dessert was a banana split crepe and a nutella and banana crepe (both yummy!) Excellent coffee.

The unpleasant surprise arrived with the bill: without any warning or notation on the menu, a 20% tip was added to the bill (this amounted to a $33 charge). We have experienced this in other restaurants when dining with large parties, but never with three, and we found it insulting that the restaurant would assume we were not likely to leave a decent tip so they should tack it on in advance. We might have thought it was a "French" thing, except we had dined at La Fourchette nearby two nights earlier, and they did not do this. Would we go back there again? Probably not.

I met a friend in DC and she wanted to try this restaurant. It was a nice walk from the Dupont Circle metro. Once we arrived I used the bathroom and had a little trepidation. It was dark and not clean. They need a remodel; badly!

The food was a different matter; it was fabulous! We had the scallops appetizer, mussels appetizer, the spinach souffle crepe and the salmon crepe. I'd happily return.

Small, neighborhood restaurant. Has Straffe Hendrik beer. Mussels were good and garlicky. Music a little loud.
What's the Saturday "Clothing Optional" brunch all about?
