Everything was bad. We knew we were in trouble from the get go. The waitress was frazzled. Huge noisy cavernous place. The pits bread was served with vinegar...no tasty dipping sauces here. Then it gets nauseating. The place reeked of fish. Unfortunately I ordered the octopus. Don't do it. It was fishy. It was served on pureed hummus ( those 2 things dont go together) even the hummus was fishy. I have NEVER had bad octopus in a Greek restaurant. The watermelon salad was truly just awful. Nothing refreshing about it. The watermelon was old..a few crumbs of feta and olives...truly a bad taste all together. My hubs had some steak. Bland and tasteless. Barely a few bites of steak. These photos were taken before we had a bite. So bad...then I got brought a check for 15.90 when ate actual bill was over 60.00. Was the waitress trying to tell us something? That was the cost of my glass of wine. I had her correct the bill and walked out of there 75 dollars poorer. Wish it had gone better as it was our first night in the city.

Visited in July 2019 with my family. What wonderful flavors, obviously recommend the hummus, freshly baked pita bread. Service was nice and the ambience is lovely. It looks much better to sit downstairs rather than upstairs, which seems a little cramped and I suspect it’s hot up there in the summer.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting Ford's Theatre--it was less than a 10 minute walk. The restaurant was hopping with patrons of all ages. The service was wonderful and very attentive. We all ordered different dishes so we could taste each others' selections. What a treat! The "puffy" pita bread is the BEST. I don't want to admit how many I ate. We never felt rushed and really enjoyed our respite from the heat and humidity of D.C.

Zaytiinya is such a great find while looking for a place to dine in DC. Easy to get to if you are traveling by Metro too. The small plates are the perfect way to explore and dine on different items on the menu. You will not be disappointed in anything you choose to try. Outdoor seating if you want to enjoy a beautiful day or dine in the beautifully decorated restaurant. Two of my favorites are the Brussel Sprouts or the Baba Ghanoush! Give it a try!

Not a huge fan of the type of food, but my daughter loves it so I'm down. We did the Mezze lunch - $25 per person, 5 courses plus drinks, and it was lovely. Nice location, cool vibe and while the place won't win any portions contests - it was delicious. I had a salad, a chicken dish and some falafel. Nice dessert and the staff celebrated my daughter's birthday without singing or making a scene lol. Very good experience, service was slow but they were busy on Monday LD weekend. Recommended!
