Mezze are like tapas, small bites to be shared. The Mezze lunch at $25 per person included one pick from each of four categories. We each picked something different but had the same dessert. Every item was attractive and very delicious. We sat outside on the patio in the shade with a soft breeze. Lovely atmosphere and service, fantastic food!! Can't wait to go back!

Always interesting, always fun, but be sure to make a reservation, especially on weekends and in tourist season. Creative Greek and Turkish mezze. Try the wonderful apricot yogurt dessert.

We were wanting Greek food and this was wonderful. The food was delicious. We all tried different items, gyros, chicken sandwiches, chicken wrap, hummus and a roasted red paper spread. Everything was very authentic and tasty. And the price for lunch also was med range. The whole family enjoyed this restaurant.

My wife and I had dinner at Zaytinya during a 3-night visit to DC. The food was good for the most part, and the service was only fair; we enjoyed our other 2 dinner choices more than this one.

We had an OpenTable reservation for 8pm on a Tuesday, and were seated after a short wait. The restaurant was very busy and noisy, with both inside and outside seating (we sat inside), and nice decor. Our server Shirley was good whenever she made an appearance at the table, but that didn't happen often enough, and she wasn't very helpful when we were trying to decide what (and how much) to order from the extensive and somewhat unfamiliar tapas menu.

For cocktails, we both ordered a Turkish Storm, which was very good. With dinner, we had a bottle of a Ktima Voyatzi red blend from Greece, which was just okay. For starters, we shared the Sojouk Pide flat bread, which was very tasty, and Tyrokafteri (a cream cheese dip with honey, pepper, and pine nut), which was okay but very rich. After that, my wife had the Lamb Kleftico, which was excellent, and I had the Harissa Sirloin (ordered medium well), which was good, but undercooked and pretty small (the server had told me that was one of the larger items). Throughout the meal we were also served freshly baked (and very hot) pita bread, inflated like little foot balls; it was good but the bread was too thin.

Zaytinya was worth a try, but if we visit DC again, it's not likely we'll eat there again.

I've been here with my parents when we meet in DC several times. Great food, great staff, and excellent service. Sometimes you can even spot a famous politician or two.
