“Good food, friendly service, reasonable prices.”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Thanks to Jose for making us feel welcome. Crab cake and filet with blue cheese was so good on night one of our DC visit, we went back again on night three. Delicious ribeye and salmon croquettes. Pea soup the best! What a nice evening!

“Good local Place”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

Went there with a large group. It took the server awhile to get to us but once he got going he was very good. The food was pretty good ( a couple steaks were over cooked). The prices were on a bit on the high side but not outrageous. They handled our large group fairly well so we will probably return.

“went to see mike baker again!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

wish we had eaten all our meals here. we thought we'd go someplace different the next night and regretted it. first night in dc and we agreed it would have to be rumors. had 4 scallops and could barely finish 3! the sauce was delicious and the scallops were so buttery and perfect. mike greeted us and asked what kind of food we liked. he went through the seafood menu since that's what we like. we also ordered the prime rib special and it looked like enough to feed 3 people. even folks on the next table were amazed. that wasn't 14 ounces! plus it came with a crab cake with tartar sauce. there was cole slaw and creamy horse radish and au jus and a small plate of mixed veggies. you won't leave hungry here! I just wish I had room for dessert! such a friendly staff and great food! outside there's some of tripadvisor's reviews. great price! not sure if they take reservations because we've always been able to get in. the view is of a lovely wide street if you like to people watch and there is outdoor seating.

“Sports bar with haute cuisine”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Short ribs just fell off the bone.
Crab cake was yummy - - a minimum of breading and a maximum of crab meat.

“A lot of hype, not that great”
Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

The host was super friendly and definitely a people-person. He made up for the not-so-great wait staff. But he really hyped up a few pricey dishes as being what you HAVE to order, and that the more common dishes would waste your memorable visit to Rumors (he told us it was named for the Fleetwood Mac album). We ordered some of the suggested items (Jambalaya, chicken parmesan) and the food was good but the Jambalaya was not spicy at all, as we had been told. We had been referred to Rumors from our hotel, and Rumors gave us a business card to give our hotel to thank them for the reference. After knowing that, we felt that the reference wasn't so genuine. Also, I wouldn't suggest Rumors for the atmosphere, unless you are into the outdated look.
