“Romantic setting”
Reviewed November 25, 2011

Our niece recommended this to us and we are so glad she did. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. The setting was beautiful and made for a nice romantic dinner for us. We walked there and had a delay as Obama and Michele had dined nearby and we had to stop and wait until their motorcade went by. It added a little excitement to our evening out watching all the security involved.

“Italian Perfection”
Reviewed October 24, 2011

We had my sons rehearsal dinner here and it was perfection. Having eaten here before when in town we wanted someplace that reflected our Italian heritage and we couldn't have chosen a better place. We were a party of 20 and the evening flowed so smoothly we couldn't be happier. The food was served hot and fresh. The wine choice, which we left up to the owner, complimented our meals perfectly. The ambiance is cozy and yet decorated as if you were in Venice. But the very best part was our waiters. They were so good at their jobs that we never knew they were around doing such a magnificent job. La Perla is a gem and we are glad we went with them rather than the typical " cookie cutter" Italian restaurants. This place is authentic.

“Excellent evening”
Reviewed July 15, 2011

We were a party of eight celebrating a birthday.
All details which I discussed with the owner over the telephone were looked after to the letter.
Antipasti and meals were outstanding - service impecable.
I will most certainly go back when I visit DC again.
A very delightful evening

“Best Italiant Restaurant. Even Leonardo di Carpio went there!”
Reviewed May 10, 2011

I have been to many Italian restaurants in different countries (including Italy) and I have to say this is the best so far. It has many own creations on the menu so you would not be bored by the standard fare. The service is warm and prompt. The deco and ambient is elegant. And their dessert menu is extensive!

“Over priced average to below average food lackluster staff”
Reviewed November 4, 2010

Had dinner there on October 30. I don't mind spending money for a really good meal, but was disappointed here. The angel hair pasta with tomato sauce was good, but everything was halfway seasoned or halfway presented. I usually think the reviews here are all negative and I am actually writing myself but it is to save you, because there are so many really great restaurants in DC. We went to Cafe Milano (not far from La Perla) for drinks afterwards and it had a really good vibe and the food smelled great and apparently a good chance to see celebs. Our drinks were good an potent. To show I am not so negative, I will be writing a review to highly recommend the Hyatt on Capitol Hill to stay and use the AAA rate to possibly get a surprise complimentary breakfast, here the hotel is pricey but well worth it!
