I’ve eaten a fair number of sausage pizzas in my time and there is no question that the one I had at Ellas was THE worse ever! The crust was ok but the presence of tomato sauce could only be detected by its color and not its taste. There were half-dollar size dollops of fresh mozzarella, but only about one per slice. The best that can be said about the “sausage” on this pizza was that there was a quite a lot of it. However, it was chopped up pieces of some sort of pressed sausage roll, devoid of any visual, taste, or texture connection to fresh Italian sausage. The service for my take out order was friendly and helpful. Perhaps other pizzas at Ellas are better, but stay away from this one!

This restaurant had excellent wood-fired pizzas with crispy crusts. Toppings were generous. There were basic and gourmet flavors. Other items, such as pasta, sandwiches, and salads were available. Nice list of beers. Reasonable prices for "gourmet" pizza. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived at 7:15 on a Saturday night but was crowded by the time we left.

They have a very good "$5 pizza" happy hour special from 5 to 7 daily, but we missed it. :)

If you're going to the Spy Museum or the National Portrait Gallery or the FBI, this is a great location for lunch or dinner. The food, especially the pizzas, is very inventive, uses fresh ingredients, portions are decently sized and is tasty. Note: if you show up at noon on a weekend, be prepared to wait 15 minutes but they turn the tables rather quickly and it goes fast. You can also get seats at the bar where they serve the full menu.

Excellent service, terrific pizza, and nice additional menu. Ordered a side of meatballs that were delicious! The kids-portion pizzas were a perfect size for them. Wonderful sangria!

Nice, relaxed atmosphere. My husband loved his calzone and risotto appetizer with shiitake mushrooms. If you like real lemon desserts, try theirs. They make them homemade everyday! Would eat here again.
