Description: Capitol City Brewing Co. opened its doors in 1992 as the first brew pub in our nation's capitol since prohibition, thus giving its citizens and its many visitors the freedom to enjoy some of the finest hand-crafted beer in the country. On the front of our menu is the symbol of freedom, the Lady Liberty, a statue found atop our namesake, the United States Capitol. Nestled in the heart of Washington's rejuvenated downtown, this location has become a local landmark for celebrating great beer and food with family and friends. We have always taken great pride in our beer so come in and enjoy a cold pint of our very best and match it to one of the many menu selections tailored to the brews we serve.

“Fast service. Tasty meal.”
Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

Right around the corner from our hotel, we stopped in for lunch. It was busy but we were seated quickly. I had a salad, my husband the ribs and my daughter the fish tacos. All very good. Beer was good too. Will go there again.

“Capitol City Brewing”
Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

The atmosphere is good but the food was just average . Not a very diverse menu. Also the beers were all very "hoppy" so if you don't like a lot of hops this is not the place for you. Parking was difficult to find too.

“It's a brew pub.”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

It's just an average brew pub. Can't say the food was any better or any worse than most other brew pubs I've visited. The beer was okay, but not Pliny the Younger (or Elder).

“Excellent celebration”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

We were able to get 2 parking spaces just around the corner, after 6:30 pm on a Saturday meters not in effect. As a fairly large group of 8 we made a reservation in advance and were pleased to be brought directly to our table by a very kind hostess when we arrived at 7 pm. Having come from NJ for a Birthday dinner celebration we were in no rush so we ordered drinks and appetizers. Joel our waiter was excellent, brought our drinks and delicious warm pretzels while we chatted and waited for the appetizers. Although typical bar food, everything was delicious. We ordered Southwest keg rolls, nachos and chicken tenders. Once we were finished with appetizers we then ordered dinner, burgers, pizza, fish, chicken and steak sandwiches....some with homemade chips that were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and the atmosphere together with the service really made for a fun night. No doubt we will return.
