Description: Capitol City Brewing Co. opened its doors in 1992 as the first brew pub in our nation's capitol since prohibition, thus giving its citizens and its many visitors the freedom to enjoy some of the finest hand-crafted beer in the country. On the front of our menu is the symbol of freedom, the Lady Liberty, a statue found atop our namesake, the United States Capitol. Nestled in the heart of Washington's rejuvenated downtown, this location has become a local landmark for celebrating great beer and food with family and friends. We have always taken great pride in our beer so come in and enjoy a cold pint of our very best and match it to one of the many menu selections tailored to the brews we serve.

My husband and I traveled to DC to visit with some friends on 1/17/2013. Our friend suggested Capitol City Brewing as it has an agreeable menu and is close to the Metro. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and sat at a table immediately (we did not have reservations). Our waiter was attentive and the food was delivered hot. Menu is mostly bar food, but delicious! After dinner we went to the bar to meet and greet more friends. Service was excellent at the bar as well.

Had a friend come to DC for business and Capitol City was a convenient spot to have drinks & dinner to catch up. We arrived around 6 and were seated immediately. When it comes to servers, we got the "B" team. When questioned about one of the beer selection he had to shout over to a co-worker to get information. Out appetizer was never delivered to the table, but it wasn't on the bill so at least that was correct. I had a burger and it was tasty and cooked as requested. The food was delivered quickly, so the missing appetizer didn't cause too much problem. The waiter walked past our booth multiple times, but unless flagged down never stopped to check out how we were doing or for drink refills. I'm sure I'll eat here again, if only because the location is near work, but it won't be high on my list.

After sightseeing all day in DC, we met some friends for dinner at the Capitol City Brewing Co. It was very very busy due to back to back Championship NFL games, but the staff was very friendly when greeting us. We had to reserve a table about an hour in advance, which allowed us time to walk around DC and shop a little bit longer. The service was quick, the food was great, the cocktails were amazing, and the atmospere was awesome! This was a very clean sports bar with a full menu, tons of TV's and friendly staff. I will return here the next time I'm visiting DC.

Stayed at the Grand Hyatt and was having issues with hotel's restaurant and Sports Bar. Spotted Capital City and made the short trek across the street. Their beer and pupus were great. The calamari was excellent. Service was timely and our waitress extremely friendly. Only downside was that it closed early for a Thursday night.

This place used to be so much better. Their beer is still good and they have lots of TVs if you'd like to watch sports on them, but their food was mediocre at best. For example, we ordered a cheese dip appetizer that tasted like it came out of a can. And we had to keep flagging down our waiter to take our order, refill our waters, etc. Not worth it. There are so many other, better places you could go!
