Description: Bistrot du Coin opened its doors on Memorial Day of 2000 by Yannis Felix and Michel Verdon. The motto is French, Fun and Friendly, this is our guideline to bring you the best experience ever at Bistrot Du Coin. The word Bistrot is defined in French as a neighborhood restaurant where you can eat good food at a fair price. The typical color of a French Bistrot is pale yellow to brown (otherwise known as Bistre) because the walls used to get dirty quickly from nicotine. Bistrot Du Coin is also known for its parties, three times a year to celebrate famous French events such as Bastille day on July 14th, The Beaujolais Nouveau on the third thursday of November or The New Year's Eve.

I used to be a fan of Bistrot du Coin, but that was back in its early days. Unfortunately, the service has gotten worse, so I rarely go there--only at the insistence of friends now--for dinner or brunch.

The best part of this casual French restaurant is its lively atmosphere. Great for people watching and getting to know your neighbors, because you'll be seated practically right on top of them.

The food varies. Personally, I don't think the brunch here is anything special. I will say that the French onion soup is out of this world delicious! The steak-frites is acceptable, but nothing to write home about. If you're into mussels, they're also OK. The problem again is the service because if there is something wrong with your food or your server forgets to bring your order after almost an hour, you're out of luck. You'll get no apologies from the waitstaff or manager. Even though the service isn't great in Europe, I have to say, it's better than what I've experienced at Bistrot du Coin.

If you're in the Dupont area and are in the mood for French fare and like a bustling atmosphere, you might give this place a try. Just bring your patience and don't expect too much and you'll be fine!

Bistrot du Coin is popular.

I went with a friend to celebrate her birthday, after checking the menu online. They offer quite a variety of dishes.

We had to wait a while for our table, which shows the popularity of this restaurant. Luckily, we waited at the bar, which had a reasonably-priced Moet and Chandon (I don't usually buy it as it is so expensive, but it was less so here and a special occasion).

It is tight, so if you like a lot of space, this is not the place for you. And it is loud. But the service and the food were both good, and the price reasonable.

Food is ok. Worst service I've ever had in my life. The employees are extremely rude and seem to go by the philosophy of "the customer is always wrong." Think they didn't bring you what you ordered? You're wrong. Think they overcharged you? You're wrong. Also, don't even think about getting water during your meal.

Want a little piece of Paris in DC? Go here. The food is cafe delightful (try the mussels and French onion soup), but it's the bustling French-style atmosphere that makes this place so memorable.

Service was excellent from from our hostess to the waiter. The selection of foods & wines was fabulous and for all price range. Bottom line the food was delicious and the wines great.
