Description: Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine, under the direction of renowned chef Jose Andres. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and Sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.

A relaxed atmosphere with a wide selection of Spanish foods (not Latino, Spanish as in Spain) served tapas style. Tapas means you basically order several small portions to make up your meal which makes it fun to share with your group and allows you to try several different dishes. The waiter was very helpful and the food tasted very good! I recommend this tests taunt for a fun laid back lunch or dinner.

Okay, to start with I have done Rogue 24 and except that the chef is an a*s with a personality to match his ego, I enjoyed and tasted everything. So fast forward to Jaleo, I like Jose, have met him, he is a down to earth guy, so I wanted to like the restaurant. But the patron needs to be a real cheese lover to come away happy. Let me say, the 2 cheese dishes we had, I liked, it was the 3 chicken dishes that were disappointing. In Spain, many families only use the old chickens, past their prime. Tonight, it tasted that way. That said said, service was great and atmosphere super.

I vent there for an early dinner a couple of weeks ago following recommendations from a good friend who knows I am a foodie. IT WAS GREAT!!!
The food tasted delicious. The presentation was very modern/elegant, although the portions are very small (nothing like the Spanish tapas platters we are used to).
All and all, it was worth it. Next time I am in town, I will make a reservation.

Jaleo is a Spanish tapas restaurant with a smart, modern interior to admire while you're meals are prepared. The friendly staff advised me on a few dishes and I started with sea urchin for a new experience. It tastes kind of like raw fish but the salsa livens up the dish. A very fresh dish. The endives and goat's cheese concoction was a fantastic dish, marrying the bitter endive with rich creamy goat's cheese, acidity of orange to cut through the richness, and slivered almonds for a textual contrast. The spicy prawns in an intense tomato sauce were tasty too and there was enough bite to keep you mouth zinging. To finish, the rather unusual dessert was the perfect finish to a fine meal. The crumbled chocolate flan was not too chocolatey, the caramelised bread provided crunch, but in also being a savoury element, amplified the sweet elements of the dish which was extraordinary. The brioche ice cream was soft and smooth but really messes with your head - am I eating bread or ice cream? Delicious.

Must have around 50 Tapas selections... If you haven't tried them before, scope out their website for ideas ... And staff is happy to suggest. Basic plan is get a "bunch" and share. A happening place at times and can be a little noisy... Try to get a table by the window... I recommend reservations for dinner. A place for a great meal and fun time!! (Drinks are primo also)
