We are Australians who were recommended to this restaurant for the Rehearsal Dinner, prior to our son's wedding. (For the benefit of non-US citizens, the rehearsal dinner happens after the rehearsal for the wedding, and it is hosted by the groom's parents. We understand that traditionally it only included the bridal party and immediate family, but has expanded beyond that. Ours was only slightly 'expanded', 30 pax, compared with 120 for the wedding reception).
We had to make the arrangements via email with Souheil the general manager, and from day one (ie 8 months before the wedding), he was responsive and very helpful. We arranged to visit the day before the dinner to finalise details, and it was clear that Souheil was quite experienced with such events, and very flexible. Maybe he thought some of our Australian ideas were wierd or inappropriate, but he did not show it. He was a real diplomat. We had the Tent Room booked for the evening; it has terrific atmosphere and decor - like a bedouin tent. On the night, service was exemplary; constant, attentive, but not at all intrusive. The food was excellent; people were still raving about it at the wedding the next day. Great range of cold mezzas, hot mezzas and choices from the grill. Souheil kept in touch with me to make sure we were tracking ok on the budget for drinks, which I really appreciated. It was just a great night.
