Not easy to recognize from the outside, but the maitre d' stood outside to guide us into the quiet and intimate restaurant. The ambience is hushed and private and the service is professional. I had a simple and delicious heirloom tomato salad, nicely salted and seasoned, and caramelized scallops on a bed of grits, both of which were prepared to perfect tenderness. Homemade chocolate bourbon ice cream was subtle and rich, with the consistency of cold pudding. Everything was delicious, but perhaps because of my conservative choices, nothing seemed adventurous or original.
