Description: Set gently back from Capitol Hill, shaded by flowering trees and shrubs, the Morrison-Clark Restaurant, occupying the former drawing room of the original townhome built in 1864, offers an elegant, timeless option among Washington DC restaurants. The full service kitchen is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The main dining room, with its gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers and marble fireplaces, is an ideal setting for romantic dinners, holiday reservations, or an evening escape from the city. The more casual Bar and Lounge serves lunch and evening cocktail service and during the warmer seasons, take advantage of outdoor seating on our front veranda or in the secluded courtyard.

The Morrison Clark Inn is just a little off the 14th St beaten path, but worth the detour. The dining room retains much of the Victorian character of the Inn and is mercifully quiet, which is just lovely when you are aiming for conversation over dinner. The menu is not extensive and not terribly avant garde, but everything was tasty. The chicken was juicy and the steak was rare as ordered. I would eat there again.

Food was good, traditional eggs, bacon and toast, but lots of it and everything you would need for a good breakfast.

Thank you for your compliments about our Breakfast. You'll never leave hungry and the variety is great. From the standard fare of eggs and bacon to brioche french and fruit laden waffles, we have breakfast with "southern hospitality " in mind, all served in the Victorian Club Lounge! Come back soon.

Excellent cuisine but not particularly lively and lacking in atmosphere as this is a Hotel Restaurant We were almost alone that night. This is not really highlighted on the travel review sites

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent dining experience. The Restaurant in our historic Inn dates back to 1987 when it became a neighborhood icon. The vaulted ceilings with crystal chandeliers and carved carerra marble firplaces are original to the Morrison mansion one of the original townhomes circa 1864 incorporate into the Inn's current building.
You can have a pleasant conversation with your dinner guests, a rarity in this hustling era we live in. The atmoshere may be of a bygone era but the skill of our excellent culinary team is indisputable. I hope you'll come and visit us again.

Due to the hurricane we were the only ones in the restaurant. Service was good and the food tasted good, not exceptional, but good. The price was a bit much for the quality of food.

Thank you for taking the time to review your meal at the Morrison Clark Inn. I am saddened that you found it merely adequate. Our culinary team usually does a great job and our menu price point varies from $9.00 to $24.00, often considered a very good value. That we did not meet your expectations is regretable and I hope that you will give us another opportunity to showcase the talents of our kitchen staff.

Regards,

Maggie Edwards

Food was great. Crab cakes and chicken Cesar salad. Sat on front porch in downtown dc. Service was there when needed but laid back and let you relax. Restaurant was located in a historic hotel.

I am glad to see that you enjoyed our little oasis in downtown D.C. The porch is such a lovely throwback to a bygone era and it's juxtaposition to the bustling downtown street while listening to the rustling of the cherry trees and crepe mytrles puts you in the mood to relax and enjoy a mint julep. We offer dinner and cocktails on the porch whenever weather permits.
Come back and see us again.
