We have been somewhat regulars at the many restaurants owned by Xavier Cervera on the Hill and have generally been pleased with the experience. The renovation of this legendary capital hill spot includes the Usual high quality interior, although the new space does not feel like it has retained the same soul as the original. Upstairs the noise was more than excessive and playing the hockey game at full volume - love those five minutes of commercials - was rediculous. I think some accoustical materials would be of great bebfit I've always thought music was the appropriate background noise. We could not hear much of our dinner mates conversation Having opened just two days before our visit, the uneven service was understandable, but having the chef from The Chesapeake Room running the kitchen, the mediocre food was a disappointment. All in all, I would not anticipate a return trip.
