“Lunch in Washington, DC”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

Trip Advisors, Hello!
Our lunch was very tasty; really GOOD. A couple things, they ONLY accept cash. I Mean REALLY! Next, the prices are CRAZY expensive. So, if you do carry cash; be prepared to drop $40.00 for lunch (keep in mind, this is sandwich/burger place).

Lastly, there is a difference between old & historic. Ollie's is leaning on the side of old. It's needs a renovation.

“Ordinary at best and pricey too.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

Went to Olley's based on recommendations on Urbanspoon. The place was dated and a little run down. We ordered a bacon burger and a turkey burger with one order of fries and one drink and the tab was twenty dollars. The best part of the meal was the fries. They were crispy and had great flavor. The burgers were ordinary. Wendy's burgers have more flavor than what we ate. There was too much bun for the burger and it was not very fresh. The staff were not real friendly and did not seem to care much about their customers.

So if your walking down 12th toward the Mall and want a burger, I would not recommend that you stop in at Ollie's.

“Liked this Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

We ate here after visiting one of the Smithsonian museums.

It is ina quiet area on the weekends, but was very busy. They ahv a quirky ordering system where the order taker writes each dish ordered down on a placemat and passes to the cooks. The food took quite a while to come, but it was cooked to order. It tasted great. We had burgers, beer, a reuben and a milkshake. Prices were a little steep, but this is downtown.

The place is very quirky, filled with old time memorabilia and old machines, whihc made the atmosphere a bit cool for the kids.

Overlal, a good choice and fun place to eat.

“Good burgers. ”

Great burgers and great seasoning on the fries. Was a bit disappointed that they had run out of milkshakes. Old-school diner atmosphere.

“Quirky Place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

Old greasy atmosphere with fun music and fun antique toys/games on display. Our food - Ruben, Hotdog, Bacon/Cheese Burger - were very good and the plain and seasoned fries were also tasty. Pretty funky old place plopped in the middle of a lot of newer/bigger buildings. Looked like a reasonable mix of locals and tourists, even at a late 2pm lunch time. Service was not excellent as one of our three orders was not made and we had to go back to the counter with the receipt to get the food. Also disappointed that no Choc shakes were avail, but enjoyed the vanilla shakes instead. If in area and looking for something different and pretty quick we would recommend for lunch (definitely recommended over standard fast food!)
