Description: Of all of our "native" food, barbecue is uniquely, authentically and gloriously All-American. Old Glory, located on historic M Street in Georgetown, captures the food, flavor and feel of the great barbecue restaurants of the United States, and offers representations of each styles of barbecue served in different parts of the country. "It looks like a rib joint, sounds like a rib joint and smells like one...most important, of course, the kitchen smokes fine barbecue," says the Washington Post. The huge barbecue pit, the open kitchen, and the 1901 Silver Dollar Four Winds hand-crafted bar, create lively, exciting atmosphere that is downright down-home.

We webt to the National Zoo in DC that day and decided to eat at Old Glory in DC. It worked out well as we got there around 4:30 and stayed untill 7:30 and beat most of the rush hour traffic . I had a comdo of brisket chicken and ribs which were all good . Would eat here again when traveling to DC

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2013

The title pretty much says it all. The barbecue was amazing, offered pork, chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes & gravy, biscuits, cornbread, wings, mac and cheese, and more. The smell of soft smokey wood and american decor contributed to a western-feel atmosphere. I went at lunch on a Thursday, wasn't too crowded. Service was fine, not horrible, not amazing. The prices are kind of expensive, but it's not too surprising considering the food was so good. All in all, the lunch was very good. I recommend it if you're in the Georgetown area.

“Overal very good, needs some tweaks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2013

We went on an AM on Sunday before Christmas. It wasn't busy at all and was raining. The smell from a block away is enough to make your mouth water. We got sat right away, but tried to first sit upstairs. The upstairs is WAY too loud with a speaker blaring away so it can be heard downstairs. Tip to the owner....put in more speakers and you won't have to turn it up so loud.

We ordered a BBQ combo plate and the pulled pork platter. While waiting, we were served some small cornbread muffin-ette type things...they were okay but just a bit on the gluteny side...someone stirred the batter too much, so they got a little rubbery, but tasted okay. The food arrived and was done just right and there were a few sauce bottles to use for additional BBQ flavors. The sweet potato wedges were great....pulled pork was ample and ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender..pretty good...not the best I have had but very good. I just wish there was a slice of garlic bread or other bread to go with the platter. I think I may have preferred a sandwich instead. Overall, having wandered by a lot of nearby places before deciding on this one, I was happy we stopped. It's not the cheapest around, but you're in Georgetown....so expect to pay a bit more.

“Great food, great party”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Old Glory has great deals, good Southern kitchen and a nice crowd. Smokers can be out on the porch/patio/sundeck. I like the atmosphere here and you'll find all kinds of people dropping by although younger students seem to frequent Old Glory in the evenings.
