Went to S&W because Morton's was closed for a suspicious package. It was closer than The Palm and we had seen mixed reviews. Food and service was spotty. Greeted warmly and a great booth. The server was pleasant but wasn't familiar with the menu nor listened correctly. She said they didn't have a particular single malt and when the dessert menu came it was listed! My wife ordered a white wine and recieved a red. When the drinks and meal were served they were served three first, then wait a few minutes for the last wine or meal to be brought to the table. The veal was great and the steak a close second, I would order both again. The sole was so-so and the "swordfish" was good, but really wasn't swordfish, we still are not certain what it was.
The fresh baked bread was good but the desserts were overated. I had the trio of creme brule' and while they all had a nice flavor and a crusty sugar top, they were not custard, but rather pudding. The next time I serve it at home I will try this - would save a lot of time.
A final note on the way to the restroom I passed the kitchen - the crew was loud and if there had been anyone in the chef's table, they would have been even more disappointed than we. Too pricey by 50%.
