“Closed after reservation”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

They just closed the restaurant at 7 pm and i had made reservations for 8 pm, because it was not busy. When i said something about this they just walked away and did not come back. Close this restaurant if you can call it that.

“If you want terrible food and despicable customer service go here...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2012

Whilst at Union Station we decided to have a meal at Thunder Grill which appears
as a reasonable culinary institution from the outside yet the food eventually undid any such
misguided belief. The server was rather overbearing and displayed little care in the customer and only desired to turn the table over and usher the next people in as soon as possible. I ordered a chicken pizette which was served before me as a hidious amount of cheese and poorly sliced chicken on top of a taco shell. Unfortunately, to my astonishment the worst was still to come as a sizeable bone was left in the chicken. In all my dining experiences I have never had a slice of chicken with bone still intact on top of a pizette. If I swallowed the bone this poor excuse of a restaurant would have had a lawsuit to deal with(due to the bone's small and sharp nature which could easily have caused a health problem), although maybe this would have save other starving travellers from wasting their time and money on a horrible meal. The food I was seved was not the only problem as my associate was served frozen vegetables which clearly were sourced from the frozen food section of a supermarket. The response by the waiter to my complaint was far below satisfactory, thus if you want to save your money and your tastebuds from an abomination of a restaurant, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

“Decent food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

Came to see union station and stopped here to eat. Good menu...casual. I had chips and salsa, fish tacos, and sangria. All were well prepared. Service was good, friendly and they made good recommendations. Guacamole came with chips and salsa and it tasted fresh. Definitely better than the fast food also in the station. Price was reasonable given how expensive D.C. food is in general.

“Cold Food. Terrible Customer Service.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

Our food was cold as if it had been just taken out of the refrigerator. The plate that the food was served on was cold. We were told that we were getting Chicken Marsala. It wasn't. The chicken was dry and cold. When my friend complained to the manager, he YELLED AT HER! Yes, you heard right. He YELLED AT HER! He did some sort of neck swinging, hands on hips type of thing and he yelled. That was not good customer service. Terrible experience. If ever I am in Washington D.C. again, I will not visit the Thunder Grill in the Union Station.

“Good Food in Union Station”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

We were in a time crunch to catch a tour and needed some food. The Thunder Grill is in Union Station and fun to watch people walk through Union Station. Food was decent, but charge for pop by the glass. I could take or leave this restaurant.
