Still great for groups of all sizes and the private room now seats 56 people. Located in walking distance from the Marriott Wardman Park and Omni Shoreham Hotels and directly across the street from the Woodley Park Metro station, our DC location is ideal for corporate and social events. Validated self-parking is also available in the garage directly behind the restaurant. The Cedar Room accommodates up to 60 people for a private seated event and 40 people for a standing reception. For smaller affairs, the room can be offered as a semi privately as well. The main dining room is also available for larger parties.

“Nice place to have lunch”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

My family are lunch here after visiting the zoo. The service was very good. Our waitress explained the menu and made my daughter feel welcomed. The meal started with some flatbread that we enjoyed. We shared the TAVERNA PLATTER. Very good. Next time in DC, we will consider this restaurant.

“Tasteless food”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

"Lebanese taverna" was never one of my favorite restaurants. Both the food and service were mediocre. But I gave it a second chance when they refurbished the place. It lost that cavernous look of the previous "Taberna". It is now brighter and cleaner even if slightly borin looking (that is, is, a very conventioonal "mnmodern" design)..

But the food....the food! Well, it seems to me a perfect example of how to convert a supremely tasty Lebanese food that depends on the freshmess of ingredients in a tasteless mush that could have been meat, chicken, fish, potatoes, aubnergines..For everything here tastes the same and nothing has its own distinct taste.

Unless the food quality improves hugely,.all this esthetic effort will have been, in my opinion, in vain.

“Gluten free and celiac friendly”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

They have a gluten free menu and can also modify several of their other dishes to be gluten free. They even provided gluten free crackers with their hummus. The food and atmosphere were good. I am pretty sensitive to gluten and did not get sick here, I would recommend it to others with Celiacs.

“Very enjoyable”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

Food is delicious. The kitchen closes early on weeknights but when we showed up for a 9:30 reservation- while the place was almost empty - they didn't rush us through our dinner. The ambiance is cozy, I love the wall made up of middle eastern lanterns. We enjoyed their sampler of appetizers which includes hummus, baba ganouzh, dolmas, and much more. I barely had room for my entree which was a seafood stew. It has a tomato base and a bit too much oil to my taste, but the variety and preparation of the seafood in it was good. All in all a very enjoyable experience.
