I joined a party of 11 others for an early evening meal.
The restaurant is well-appointed and clean. The staff all look smart and presentable, with a courteous and helpful manner. In fact, I was most impressed by them. I had left my brief case behind following the meal and, after a quick telephone call from my hotel, it was securely stored until I collected it the next day.
The meal was taken from the 3-course fixed price menu ($32) which I thought was very good value. I chose the beet salad to start with, followed by the beef, and to end I had a caramel desert. All courses were to a high standard. As an accompaniment to the main meal, I had a glass of Cote du Rhone which was light and fruity and a perfect complement to the beef (which had been cooked to perfection).
The total cost of the meal including tip (in the US this is between 15-20%) worked out at $50 or about £34, which I thought was very good value.
The place itself is suitable for adult dining, although I am sure children would be welcomed (if well behaved).
The next time I am in Washington I will definitely return.
