The food - taste, aroma, presentation - what a feast! The atmosphere was very elegant and the service impeccable.

“Best Indian food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

some of the very best, elegant Indian food in the city. close to WH. plenty of room between tables. just lovely but may make you feel a little bad about romanticizing colonial days.

“Standard of Excellence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

When we couldn't get a reservation at either Rasika's DC locations, we decided to skip this super popular location and return to an old favorite that has been a standard for excellent Indian food for a long time. We were not disappointed. The food was as good as ever, and Bombay Club and Rasika's are siblings anyway. The "plus" for Bombay Club is a much quieter and more comfortable dining room. Also the service was just right. Not to take away from Rasika's top-of-the-line cuisine, but you don't have to wait a week or two when you get the urge for Indian . . . thankfully, there's Bombay Club.

“Stylish friendly and utterly delicious!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2012

This 'dreams of the Raj' colonial Indian style place is ideally located near K/L/M street corridor and federal government offices. It is spacious and elegant, but also comfortable, largely due to the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I went to 2 business meals there during a recent stay and at one we had an assortment of people coming and going, some with very little time, and they graciously and uncomplainingly arranged for all of us to have something tasty in the time we had, giving suggestions to meet people's needs and generally being extremely helpful.

As for the food it is a cross-section of everything delicious, at every level of spice, you would wish for from the elegant end of the subcontinental spectrum.

This place sets a very high standard and I could only recommend it with 5 stars, any less would be an insult!

“Elegant tandoori”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

I have eaten in fine-dining Indian restaurants in Bombay, Delhi and London, and this one holds its own as a U.S. restaurant against that competition. The setting is white-tablecloth lovely, service is excellent, and the tandoori entrees are for me the standout on a menu which covers many regions. The delicately fried arugula (or spinach) is a beautiful side dish that practically floats into your mouth. I have eaten here at least half a dozen times on visits to Washington and it is very consistent in service and quality.
