I have moved away from Washington but this is one restaurant I enjoy coming back to. Their food always tastes fresh and it is always better when you are sitting outside with a frozen margarita. Their brunches are fun because they are Mexican versions of traditional Washington brunches of the past.

Stay away from their margaritas on ice (too sweet! Boring!) but DO order the frozen ones, they are terrific, large and value for the money. The food here is above-standard Mexican since you get freshly made tortillas hot off the machine, a good homemade salsa and freshly made chips. I hear they get their skirt steak directly from Texas. Those who live in places with superior Mexican or Tex-Mex locales may not be impressed, but for the rest of us this is good, affordable eats. Chips and salsa, including refills, are free. Portions are large and filling. The place is large and often crowded and noisy, but enjoyable. Sitting outside on Wisconsin Avenue can be loud and disagreeable (bus exhaust) but you get a good view. Choose seating on the side or in their outdoor annex for a more mellow experience. This is a very kid-friendly place so be prepared for many little ones running around. We have loved coming here for years and always make a point to visit when we are in town.

It's a casual place to eat, it's huge and always busy. It's annoying they don't take reservations, but when you arrive they give you a beeper and tell you quite precisely how long you have to wait, so it's a fair deal - you can decide to stay or to leave and their estimate is pretty accurate.

Delicious food, you can never go wrong withe Carne Asada a la parilla if you are a meat lover. There are many great items on the menu to choose from. The place is loud, so it's not perfect for a couple dinner, but great for a friends gathering.

Happened upon this place when exploring Georgetown. Service was freindly and attentive. Also all four of us agreed the food was delicious and plentiful. I would have liked to have my tap beer in a pint glass then the smaller frozen mug it was served in. We would certainly recommend and would go back ourselves. We got lucky and found a parking spot on the street right in front, otherwise it looked difficult to find a place to park.

Kids are very welcome here, like most Mexican restaurants, because it's lively and informal. The food for adults is always wonderful--great meat dishes especially. And who doesn't love their margaritas and mojitos?
