As part of a group attending the Rock-n-Roll Marathon, fourteen (14) in our party dined before the race at Filomena's, a DC staple that is worth at least one trip. I have gone there over the years and like it because it reminds me of some of the old spots in Boston's North End. The food is basic Italian fare cooked well and served in a friendly atmosphere by experienced waiters who know how to please. The food is fresh and is served hot and promptly. I will be there again in another couple of months and am looking forward to it.
Do not over order the appetizers - you can get stuffed quickly and lose out on some terrific entrees.
