“A Must”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

The Old Ebbitt is a Washington landmark that everyone should experience while I town.
A busy, bustling dining room with lots of character and old world charm. Good food and warm friendly service. We never miss visiting at least once when in Washington.

“A landmark but disappointing”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Had to go to Old Ebbits as it’s a DC landmark….but we were disappointed. Sunday evening reservation was honored and the restaurant was packed. Service was slow to arrive and take drink and app orders. Waiter “required” us to place dinner orders with drinks and apps – “easier for everyone, he said.” From there, it was a mad dash to get us out of there. Apps came before the drinks and the entrees arrived as the apps were being finished. We felt rushed the entire meal. Food was OK, nothing special. Kids meals were adequate. Overall, been there, done that.

“A good place to eat in DC”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

This busy downtown restaurant, just a short distance from the White House is a greta place to go after seeing the sights and Museums of DC. Make sure you have reservations or the wait could be long, The food is great. We had the Jumbo Lump Crab patty and enjoyed it totally. Our friend had the Seafood Jambalaya and said it was suberb. There is a nice choice of starters, cocktails and beers. The menu has a nice variety of entrees to choose from. By Washington standards, it is not all that expensive, but you you may not think so.

“Great location and great food”
Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

Met some family who live near DC at the restaurant as it was near our hotel. Everyone enjoyed their salads, mussels, steak and seafood. Our server was nice without being on top of us.
