If you're going to the Kennedy Center you must go here. I read a review about Ancora and was excited to hear that there was another restaurant to go to close to the Kennedy Center. My dinner was a superior start to the evening. A wonderful Sancerre with oysters, scallops whose accompaniment was fantastic, espresso with an apple tart for dessert that you have to try. Tom our server and Steven the manager/sommelier added to the evening fun. Go here... even if you're not going to the Kennedy Center. We will be.

The restaurant needs renovation badly. You feel like you are in a place out of the 70s. That said the scallops were outstanding. Lots of good choices and the service was top notch. I would go back.

It is a very good restaurant at steps from the Kennedy Center and Foggy Bottom area. The Chef is the same from Kinkeads, which has beennthe bestnseafood restaurant in DC for years, until it was closed last December. This one have a nice italian menu, with new receipts suitable for gourmets and people that just enjoy good food. It also open for lunch, which is an excelent option for tourists visiting the KC or Georgetown area.

Made reservations for 6 through "Open Table" for dinner on a Thursday at 5:30pm. Requested a view table. We arrived and were seated near the front door with no view at all when there were fewer than 20 people in the huge restaurant. Out of the 6 of us, only two others were "satisfied" with the meal. I ordered fish without head and tail, was brought with head and tail, taken back to kitchen and returned as a pile (literally) of shredded fish, very dry and with bones all through it. After hearing so many good things about Kincade's, it was a real disappointment.

I had lunch two weeks ago and dinner a couple of nights ago at Ancora. The Fritto Misto I had for lunch was a disappointment but the grilled squid was delicious! For dinner, three of us had the scallops which we all enjoyed; the rest had the sea food stew (cioppino) which they said was very good. The wine list was pricey and dominated by Italian wines. We had difficulty finding good, reasonably-priced red wines on the list. The pinot grigio we had was $45 (nice); the Talamonti was $45 (mediocre red) and the Argiolas Costera was $65 (a bit better but not great).
