We recently returned from a family trip to D.C. Decided at the last minute to do a night tour of Washington and the monuments. Should have planned ahead. Our tour guide's name was Marsha. She was also our driver. She was awful. She was rude to a foreign guest who was interpreting what she was saying to his wife who did not speak English. I understand that this was probably disturbing her, but she could have politely asked him to move closer to the back so she wouldn't lose her concentration. She called him out in front of everyone on the microphone. I was embarrassed for him, and felt awful that she had treated him so badly. Also during the tour she constantly asked for a tip. Very unprofessional. At our last stop, she said that she wasn't rushing us, but hurry up. She basically read her script and drove at the same time. She tried to be funny and entertaining while she was reading her script, but then when we were getting on and off the bus, she never looked up and smiled or spoke at all. I would never recommend this company and plan to call the hotel and tell them not to recommend any more. Also, the bus was ragged out. Our bus looked awful and worn out compared to all the other tour buses. I normally don't complain, but I felt this needed to be said. for $195 I would have expected much more professionalism.

We took the moonlight tour. The reason we selected Zohery was they would pick you up at your hotel. A definite advantage. The night we went there was no moon so we were dissapointed because some of the war memorials were dark and yuo could not get the full benefit of seeing them. Where they took us to see the White House we were very far away and it was not explained to us exactly where to go to actually get a view. However the Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial and Martin Luther King Memorials were all great. The guide was average and not very informative. The end of the trip was the Marine Iwo Jima Memorial and again a bit discppointing. Maybe a moonlit night would have helped but overall not really what we expected.

We selected this tour based on our hotel's recommendation. We were picked up and hour earlier than the tour scheduled for 7:00pm and then sat for nearly an hour outside a hotel in DC. We were told nothing while waiting. Finally another van pulled up with seven passengers who joined us. At this point fees were collected, which delayed us by another 10-15 minutes. We finally pulled out at 7:40. Our tour guide made efforts to be funny and engaging and he did have a good bit of trivia to share. Sadly, We did not have the full tour as advertised missing several stops expected. Also the bus is beat up and the bathroom was out of order. We were never accompanied from site to site nor did we have enough time to truly explore most stops. It was enjoyable to see DC at night but I wish we had a better overall experience.

My wife and I recently went on a weekend trip to Washington D.C. We toured the city during the day but my wife wanted to see the city after dark. In the lobby of our hotel was a brochure for Zohery tours. The prices of the various tour companies were pretty standard, but if you book online, the Zohery after dark tour is only $19. This was well within our budget. Ali provides a no-frills tour, but is very knowledgable about the history of the city. We had ample time at all stops to look around, take pictures, and he even shared information about each monument that we didn't know. (The underground level of the Lincoln Monument). At the conclusion of the tour, he even dropped us off at our hotel in Georgetown and saved us $20 in cab fare. Thanks Ali!!

We booked this tour on the advice of our hotel having just two days in the capital. There were about 10 on the tour. The coach driver was also the guide so his commentary was spoken with one hand on the microphone and one hand on the wheel - proved difficult to negotiate around corners! Ali was Egyptian and he spoke in rather a monotone - well memorised and full of facts and statistics delivered at speed but lacking any real interest. Questions were not encouraged. We were dropped off at each monument for around half an hour and the most interesting insights came from the (free) Ranger Service. At each monument there was a problem parking the coach in no waiting areas so some people found it difficult to locate the coach again. Having spent $40 each we would have preferred to have a guide, separate from the driver, who could have come round the monuments with us or at least a pre recorded professional commentary. After the tour we took a Gray Line tour of Arlington Cemetery which had a prerecorded commentary and proved good value.
